Actions

How It Works

  • Water Cycle: Water evaporates from moist surfaces, rises as vapor, condenses on the cooler glass walls, and drips back down
  • Mist Tool: Click and drag to spray water droplets into the terrarium
  • Plant Moss: Click on moist rocks or soil to plant moss spores of the selected species
  • Moss Growth: Moss spreads using cellular automata - it needs moisture and light to thrive
  • Species Competition: Different moss species compete for the same moist surfaces
  • Temperature: Higher temps increase evaporation; lower temps increase condensation
  • Light: Moss needs light for photosynthesis but too much dries out the terrarium

Inspired by closed terrarium ecosystems where the water cycle creates a self-sustaining environment. The glass jar refracts light and collects condensation droplets.
